Spiritual Warfare

Updated due to more events this week (Friday, April 20).

In the same week that a partial birth abortion ban was upheld by the US Supreme Court, there was the largest massacre in US history at Virginia Tech, a massive flood in New Jersey, a holdup and a murder-suicide at the Johnson Space Center, a Maryland mine that collapsed on some workers, and a shooting rampage in New York. The bible is clear that God judges nations, and that demonic forces work with and within them to bring about evil. Is this spiritual warfare on a national level? I wonder.

I think that its a definite possibility. There was also a series of bombings that killed close to 180 in baghdad yesterday. I think it is spiritual warfare on an international level. I could speak briefly on the effects of globablization but i'll make a brief point.

I believe that as the world becomes more interconnected, mankind in general will suffer more. Both because Christ's coming is more imminent, and those who are not on God's side, will fight against him.

Those who are not prepared to fight against the powers of this earth, that wage war on man's souls, will use the tools of this world, to achieve their innermost desires. Mainly, giving themselves a sense of power and authority, wanting to impose their dominion on others and make themselves feel full and content. And by doing so, in a twisted way, they fight or attack that emptiness or sense of undesirability they have inside.

Though events like the ones you described seem not to be related to each other, they in fact are interconnected to a much larger picture.

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6:12

It is my belief because of these things, we are, as I so endearingly call those I know, to be a 'child of light' on earth. Because to be blunt, no one has the power to transform the world and save the souls of men than those who live their lives in servitude to Christ.
